For anyone who read our first blog post about making a DIY vacuum platter, recently we noticed a great post from the user ‘lulu’ on Lathe Trolls which we thought was worth sharing here! For anyone who hasn’t read our first post and would like to, head here.
This approach is straightforward and efficient, especially if you have access to a machinist or someone skilled in metalwork. It involves repurposing a second-hand Lenco L75 metal platter and machining air channels directly into it. Paired with the standard process of drilling the centre spindle, this method seems like a fantastic solution.
To complete the setup, an aluminium cap was created to connect the centre spindle to the vacuum system.
If anyone else has any tips, feel free to get in touch or add to the post in Lathe Trolls which you can find here.
