Heat lamps are unnecessary. These plastics cuts easily at room temperature. Using heat lamps can cause static buildup by excessively drying the air around the disc. For example, PETG softens at around 80°C, so heat lamps are ineffective and unnecessary. Maintain a comfortable and moderately warm environment, ideally around 25°C.
Excessive warmth can reduce humidity, increasing static problems. This guideline applies to all lathe cutting discs. If a diamond can cut it, it's PETG (or a PET material), and these principles hold true.
